#1 Thing God Hates

Good Morning! My next journey in the bible is going to take us to some scriptures that keep coming up everywhere lately! Proverbs 6:16-19 When you read that God HATES something...you take notice! I don't want to do anything that God would hate. So the #1 one thing is: Haughty eyes.   Haughty = Proud. What is the definition of pride? Arrogant or disdainful conduct or treatment; haughtiness; an excessively high opinion of oneself; conceit. Proverbs 16:18-19 says “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before ...a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.” Pride will always get in the way of your ministry. Satan’s downfall was pride…therefore he knows the power of it and he uses it to try to cause Christians to fall. I pray the Lord will help us examine our hearts and remove any pride that lives there. The opposite of pride is humility, which is the quality of being modest, reverential, even politely submissive, and never being arrogant, contemptuous, or rude. James 4:6 “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."” Oh Lord, please make us humble before you!
